Ingredients
Scale
Fruits & Vegetables
- 1 large mango, peeled and finely diced
- 1 large avocado, finely diced
- ½ medium red onion, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
- ¼ cup cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 medium lime, freshly juiced
Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the mango, avocado, and onion: Peel and finely dice the ripe mango and avocado, and chop the red onion. Place all these ingredients into a mixing bowl.
- Add the jalapeño: Deseed and finely dice the jalapeño to control heat level. For less spice, choose a smooth jalapeño; if it has marks, expect more heat. Add the jalapeño to the bowl.
- Add the cilantro: Finely chop the fresh cilantro and add it to the bowl with the other ingredients.
- Season and mix: Squeeze fresh lime juice over the salsa and add kosher salt. Stir well to combine all flavors evenly. Adjust lime and salt to taste.
- Serve: Enjoy the salsa immediately as a dip with chips or as a fresh topping on grilled fish, chicken, or steak.
Notes
- For a spicier salsa, include the jalapeño seeds or add an extra jalapeño.
- Make sure to use ripe avocado and mango for the best creamy and sweet flavor.
- This salsa is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 1 day; the avocado may brown slightly.
- Adjust salt and lime juice according to personal taste preferences.
- Pair with tortilla chips or use as a vibrant topping for tacos, grilled meats, or seafood.
