Shredded Chicken Sliders with Provolone and Honey Dijon Glaze Recipe

  • Author: Cleo
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Shredded Chicken Sliders combine tender rotisserie chicken with melted provolone cheese and a sweet-savory honey dijon poppy seed glaze, all nestled inside soft Hawaiian rolls. Perfect for parties or a comforting meal, they are baked until golden and bubbly for a delightful finger food experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 heaping cups shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 4 ounces provolone cheese, sliced

Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (salted or unsalted)
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare rolls: Cut the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half and lay the bottom halves flat in a baking dish to form the base for the sliders.
  3. Assemble sliders: Spread the shredded rotisserie chicken evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Next, layer the provolone cheese slices evenly on top of the chicken. Place the top halves of the rolls back over the cheese layer. Use a serrated knife to cut all the sliders apart for easier serving after baking.
  4. Make the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, dijon mustard, poppy seeds, and salt until completely combined to create a flavorful glaze.
  5. Apply glaze and bake: Generously spread the glaze over the tops of the slider tops and in between each roll to maximize flavor. Bake the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.

Notes

  • Using rotisserie chicken saves time and adds flavor, but you can use any cooked shredded chicken.
  • Feel free to use different cheese varieties like mozzarella or cheddar if provolone is unavailable.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or a sprinkle of garlic powder to the chicken.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated covered in the oven.
  • These sliders can be made ahead by assembling them and refrigerating before baking; just add a few extra minutes to baking time if baking from cold.
