Pizza Dough

  • 500g pack bread mix
  • 1 tbsp flour or semolina (for dusting)

Toppings

  • 1 small jar pizza tomato sauce (about 150g)
  • 100g pack salami, sliced
  • 10 peppadews, halved
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • Large pinch crushed chilli flakes
  • 140g mozzarella, cut into 3cm cubes
  • Handful oregano, leaves picked

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Heat the oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Mix the bread dough following the pack instructions until it forms a light and sticky dough.
  2. Knead and Proof: Knead the dough for a few minutes, then place it in a covered, oiled bowl. Allow it to rise at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare Dough Base: Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your largest baking tray.
  4. Prepare Baking Tray: Sprinkle flour or semolina over the baking tray to prevent sticking, then place the rolled dough on top.
  5. Add Sauce and Toppings: Spread the pizza tomato sauce evenly over the dough. Scatter the salami slices, halved peppadews, thinly sliced red onion, crushed chilli flakes, mozzarella cubes, and oregano leaves on top.
  6. Bake the Pizza: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough turns crusty and golden, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.

  • Using semolina on the baking tray adds a nice texture and helps prevent sticking.
  • Adjust the amount of chilli flakes based on your heat preference.
  • For a crispier base, prebake the rolled dough for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
  • Peppadews add a sweet, piquant flavor—if unavailable, substitute with roasted red peppers or cherry tomatoes.
