Nacho Cheeseburger Recipe

  • Author: Cleo
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A flavorful nacho cheeseburger combining juicy grilled beef patties topped with melted cheddar, creamy guacamole, spicy chipotle mayo, fresh salsa, and crunchy salted nachos, all layered inside lightly toasted sesame seed buns and garnished with fresh coriander for a delightful Tex-Mex twist on the classic burger.

Ingredients

Scale

Burgers and Cheese

  • 2 beef burgers
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 sesame seed burger buns

Condiments and Toppings

  • 2 tbsp guacamole
  • 2 tbsp chipotle or chilli mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp salsa
  • small handful salted nachos
  • ½ small bunch coriander, leaves torn

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill: Heat the grill to medium-high, ensuring it’s hot enough to cook the burgers thoroughly and melt the cheese.
  2. Grill the Burgers: Place the beef burgers on a baking sheet and grill for 5 to 8 minutes on each side until they are cooked through.
  3. Add Cheese: During the last minute of grilling, top each burger with a slice of cheddar and continue grilling until the cheese melts perfectly over the burgers.
  4. Toast the Buns: While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the sesame seed burger buns to enhance texture and flavor.
  5. Assemble the Burgers: Spread guacamole evenly on the bottom halves of each bun, then place the cheesy burger patties on top. Add chipotle or chili mayo followed by salsa.
  6. Add Crunch and Garnish: Sprinkle broken salted nachos over the salsa for a satisfying crunch, and finish by scattering torn coriander leaves over the top.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Place the top buns on each burger and serve immediately while warm and delicious.

Notes

  • Use fresh coriander leaves for best flavor and presentation.
  • Adjust chipotle or chili mayo according to preferred spice level.
  • For juicier burgers, choose high-quality beef with a moderate fat content (around 20%).
  • Serve with extra salsa or guacamole on the side if desired.
  • Nachos add a crunchy texture but can be omitted or replaced with tortilla strips for a gluten-free option.
