Ingredients

Scale

Liquids and Dairy

  • 1 can Cream of Coconut (approximately 15 oz)
  • 1 can Coconut Milk (approximately 13.5 oz)
  • 1 can Evaporated Milk (approximately 12 oz)
  • 1/2 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup Gold Rum

Flavorings and Spices

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • Cinnamon Stick, to taste (for garnish)
  • Ground Cinnamon, to taste (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In the bowl of a blender, add the cream of coconut, coconut milk, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, gold rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Blend the mixture on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes until everything is thoroughly combined and smooth.
  2. Chill the Mixture: Pour the blended coconut mixture into glass bottles or containers with covers. Seal tightly and transfer them to the refrigerator. Chill for at least 1 hour until the coquito is cold and flavors meld together.
  3. Serve and Garnish: Before serving, shake or stir the bottle well to ensure the ingredients are well mixed. Pour the coquito into small serving glasses. Garnish each glass with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and, optionally, a cinnamon stick for a festive touch.

Notes

  • For best flavor, allow the coquito to chill for several hours or overnight to let the spices and rum meld.
  • Adjust the amount of rum to taste or omit for a non-alcoholic version.
  • Use good quality gold rum for a richer flavor profile.
  • Shake well before each serving as the ingredients may settle or separate when refrigerated.
  • Store leftover coquito refrigerated for up to one week.
