Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 300g frozen or fresh cherries, pitted
- 150g natural yogurt
- 1 large banana, sliced
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 50–100ml cold water (to adjust thickness)
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: Pit the cherries if using fresh ones and slice the banana to make blending easier and ensure a smooth texture.
- Blend: Add the cherries, natural yogurt, sliced banana, and vanilla extract to a blender. Blitz until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
- Adjust consistency: Pour in 50-100ml of cold water gradually while blending until you reach your desired thickness for the smoothie.
- Serve or chill: Pour the smoothie evenly into four glasses to serve immediately, or chill it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. If chilled, give the smoothie a good stir before serving to recombine any settled ingredients.
Notes
- Use frozen cherries for a thicker, cooler smoothie; fresh cherries will yield a lighter texture.
- You can substitute natural yogurt with Greek yogurt for a creamier texture and higher protein content.
- Adjust sweetness by adding honey or maple syrup if preferred, though the banana and cherries usually provide sufficient natural sweetness.
- The smoothie can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
- For a thinner smoothie, increase the amount of cold water added gradually.
